Joan refers to the assault on Officer "Hagen" when it was actually Officer Bailey. Officer Hagen appears unhurt in the dining room not long afterwards.
Joy Westmore also makes what is probably a slip the director decided not to re-run when she refers to a leak "that the men are being held at Woodridge". Well, at least she got the first letter right...
Joyce is flustered to have to contend with Joan's report of the assault on an officer simultaneously with an urgent call from the Minister's office. Reb says the women shouldn't expect too much change now she's top dog, and says they will support one of Len and Joan to undermine the other one: they can choose who's to go first. Matt and Geoff implicitly lag on Frank and he is sent to solitary. Joyce visits Ann in hospital and fills her in on the Department's latest directives on the treatment of the male prisoners. Reb asks for Joan's backing of her as top dog and in return she will help her get rid of Len. Judy assures Myra she still wants to be friends with her. Frank gropes Pixie when she delivers his meal to solitary. Len not only refuses to take it seriously but tells him there is a gorgeous woman next door in solitary [It later appears he means Lou Kelly...] Myra hands over the press to Reb, but has to bite her tongue to stop intervening when Reb promises openly to deals drug to Bobbie. Sam is called to the Governor's office and Joyce tells her her mother and real name (Julie Ann Cameron) have been traced. The doctor tells Ann he is concerned for Meg's mental rather than physical well-being, as she doesn't seem to want to get better. Sam hands round the form with her real name: it has a ludicrously large font size so it can almost be read across the other side of the laundry. Meg refuses to talk to Ann and sends her away but Chris stays behind to try to shock her out of her self-pity with brutally "honest" criticism. Reb turns down Joan's suggestion to frame Len for drugs and plans to compromise Len with Lou. Geoff demands to see the Governor as he thinks it is no longer safe for them to work in the garden, as a sniper could pick them off. Ann goes straight back to work, taking Chris with her to try to talk to Bobbie again. Joyce is relieved to see Ann, but Joyce and Len are less delighted. Lou is not amused to find she is to be the bait for Len, but agrees when she finds out that Reb has taken over as top dog. Reb tells the women to stay away from Lou's cell during rec period but won't say why. Chris fails to re-assure Bobbie he is nothing like Jonathan Edmunds. Lou flirts with Len and hints she will be alone in her cell during the recreation period. Joan tries to plant a rumour with Ann about complaints of sexual harassment against Len. Judy helps Sam to write the letter to her mother. When the women congregate in the rec room to welcome Ann back, Reb drops a hint that Lou and Len are together in her cell. When Reb prematurely gloats about getting rid of Len, Myra points towards the door: Len has been shrewd enough not to have gone to Lou's cell and has swapped shifts with another officer. Marlene refuses Reb's free cocaine, so Reb gives her a doped biscuit. Many of the other women in the rec room giggle girlishly to indicate they have taken up Reb's offer. The cockroach races take place in the rec room. Myra is annoyed that Reb is giving drugs away, but Reb claims that it's an attempt to regulate the supply. Len visits Lou in her cell after lockup . Marlene is taken ill in the night with a reaction to the cocaine.
