  • Kath is set free after being punched several times in the stomach . Vicki sets a drier on fire to set off the alarms (though of course if the driers are airtight enough to have suffocated Ann Yates, closing the door after throwing in a lighted rag would only make the fire go out). Kath threatens once again to have Rita sent to Blackmoor, but Rita has to leave off the beating up when the fire alarms is sounded. Kath and Rita turn up last for the line up for the fire roll (which, oddly, is taken indoors). Kath goes to Rita's cell with back-up to announce her terms: Rita must give in and let Kath control all the rackets she likes or she will be transferred to Blackmoor. Rodney is annoyed to be posted to Smithton for "falling down on his written work" and goes to the staff room to have a rant at Delia and Marty. Rita tells the other Warriors they can't take any action against Kath for the moment. Peter visits Nancy to tell her not to believe what Danielle told her about them having "rows". Joan agrees with Rita suggestion that they cease hostilities as they are quits. When Peter goes back to the car it turns out that Danielle is waiting for him: we she has a black eye. Kath arrives in the rec room with a group of supporters: Merle announces that the women feel there should be a vote for a new top dog. Rita refuses to stand against Kath, who is voted in. Joyce relays the news to Ann in the staff room. Rodney goes to say goodbye to Kath, but she pretends that she wants him to stay. Rodney goes to Mr Watkins at the Department to appeal against his posting: he tells Mr Watkins he would be better at Wentworth, as he has an informant and that the women in C block are forging visitors' passes in the workshop. Ann is not pleased to be ordered to keep Rodney at Wentworth. Rita and Alice plot to separate Kath from her supporters, by tieing the security gate with wire while Alice bashes Kath. Nancy can't take part as was originally planned, when her other son Harry comes to visit. Vicki returns with the cash collected and Kath decides to double the protection money. Harry is visiting Nancy after hearing about the boat trip. Rita goes to see Ann to give herself an alibi. Harry tells Nancy that Peter is not as she remembers: for instance, she never knew about his vandalism. Nancy suddenly starts to piece together why Danielle came to see her. Lorelei decoys Kath's supporters to the laundry with some schoolyard abuse. Rita has to stage a faint to prevent Ann leaving her office to investigate the forged visitors' passes found in a search. Alice and Kath fight, but Alice is sprayed in the face with an aerosol. Lexie trips Kath as she passes her cell and Rodney helps her up. Kath overhears Ann warning Rodney of the dangers of using informants. In another rec room showdown, Kath blames Rita for the increase in protection payments. Marty and Delia have a picnic in the grounds and he tells her about his phobia: Meg tells them Wentworth has been asked for volunteers to help control bush fires.
