Mark Cox suggests that the new background prisoner who appears in two scenes in this episode is an old familiar face. | It is Don Baxter, who had got the tape through Brenda, and he demands $10,000 in payment for the tape, giving Joan 48 hours to come up with the money. Minnie tells the women she won't give up trying to find a way to fix Joan. Sonia approaches Phyllis to sell the drugs for her. Joan is turned down for a bank loan, but is told a finance company might be be able to help - at a much higher rate of interest. Minnie notices that Mary is missing. Pixie remembers she last saw her talking to David Bridges. Paul meets his lawyer, Samantha Russell. Joan accuses Sonia of involvement with the blackmail attempt. Wally gives evidence at Judy's trial (featuring yet another six person jury ): he has to admit that Judy told him she gave Hazel an overdose. Her solicitor calls Judy to the stand herself to tell in her own words the events that led up to Hazel's death. The women cover for Mary when Joan notices she isn't in the laundry. This makes the women realise that Mary must have escaped and Phyllis promptly starts a book on whether she'll get away with it. The prosecutor tricks Judy into admitting that she wanted Hazel dead. Sonia demands a cut from Brenda of whatever Joan pays. Terry tells Minnie that Billy has been picked up after a tip-off by a prison officer: Minnie assumes it was Joan. Randi returns to Wentworth on a three week sentence. Minnie plots to get Joan: Frances asks to be in on it. Joan catches Bobbie rolling a joint and also catches Phyllis moving dope in the laundry skip: she finds out Sonia is behind the racket. Meg confronts Randi when she finds out she is back inside, but Randi tells her she will keep her promise to get revenge on Meg for ruining her chances with Marty. Phyllis and Bobbie ask to join the plot against Joan. Minnie agrees but confiscates Bobbie's Walkman just in case. Lizzie reports a mysterious conversation she had with David that seems to imply he knows something about Mary's escape. Minnie keeps Sonia and Brenda away from a meeting of the conspirators by sending Pixie to them to buy dope, but Sonia and Brenda realise this is a fairly strange thing for Pixie to be doing and make her smoke it straight away. Minnie loses control of the meeting: Phyllis and Frances take over and decide Joan must be killed. Pixie's stoned behaviour distracts David: she even drags him into her cell to show him her wedding albums. Joan is knocked out patrolling the corridor: Bobbie is hurt in the struggle and goes back to her cell, where Minnie works out from her what is happening. Minnie is about to dash off to stop the women, but Bobbie tells her she is already too late. The women tie a noose around Joan's neck and string her up in the shower block .
