  • Sirens sound and officers take up position around the exercise yard. The women in Wentworth hear about the riot on TV: Kath overrules Alice's demands to see the Governor. Spike goes to find Bongo to prevent him being taken hostage. The officers fire on the room where Roo is being held. Walters goes down a manhole. Kath tells Rodney not to volunteer for Blackmoor, so he can support her plan to start a riot at Wentworth and frame Alice for it. As a first step, Kath persuades the other women to take part in a roof-top protest. Rita takes two guards hostage. Delia is knocked out to get her keys. Kath tells Rodney to phone the press. Lorelei is suspicious of Kath's motives, especially when Alice is sent to speak to Ann, but Sarah volunteers in her place. Rita gives up one of the wounded officers and sends a taped message to Craven. Spike tries to bring Bongo to Rita, but he is captured by the officers and handcuffed to a grating in the exercise yard. Craven offers to swap Bongo for Walters. Joan, Marty and two other officers arrive to help the Blackmoor officers. The women at Wentworth show the banner to waiting reporters: it reads "CLOSE BLACKMOOR" . Lorelei and Alice pull Kath into sight to make sure she gets part of the credit , but Rodney points out she is obviously under duress. Marty volunteers to talk to Rita, but Craven uses it as a cover to open fire and make a simultaneous attack through an underground passage. The women manage to hold off the attack. Kath blames others for the trouble at Wentworth: Alice, Lorelei and Sarah refuse to admit responsibility and Ann announces she will discipline the whole of H block. Spider concedes defeat to Kath, but tells Alice that she intends to get inside the racket and expose Rodney and Joan. Rita tells the women at Blackmoor to build bonfires. Marty is sent back to Wentworth, and tells Meg that he will go to the press over Craven's treatment of the prisoners: Meg points out that his only witness is Joan. Rita cracks and agrees to swap Walters for Bongo. When Bongo is freed, he is disoriented and goes the wrong way, to be shot down on Craven's orders by one of the guards . Rita pours spirit on the bonfire and lights it .
