  • Margo has reverted to background status - she can be seen in the laundry scuffling with Mouse but has no lines.

Sharon wants some coffee, but rather than run the risk of stealing it, she pays Pat with pills to get some for her. Pat notices that the pills are different to the ones she had before. Doreen returns to the halfway house early next morning and tells Lizzie about the engagement. Lizzie doesn't trust Kevin's motives and goes round to see him to check his prospects. Bea sees Paul to ask for more materials, but she really wants to make it clear that it was she and not Sharon who got the women back on the project. Sharon and Chrissie are stoned in the laundry. Erica tells Chrissie she can make regular escorted visits to the hospital and warns her not to abuse the privilege. Pat is working at top speed thanks to the amphetamines and eventually collapses. The sister identifies the cause of Pat's condition and Erica orders a search. Sharon survives a body search by hiding the drugs under her hair at the back of her neck. Lizzie visits Bea to share her worries about Doreen. Pat warns Sharon not to try the same trick on anyone else. Doreen tells Lizzie she's going to come and live with her and Kevin when they are married. Paul points out to Tony that the terms of his bond mean that he can't leave home to start up an apprenticeship. Erica turns down Jim's suggestion to confine the women their cells and orders instead that the women's visitors should be searched. Meanwhile, Judy has arrived to see Sharon, but she hasn't brought anything in. Sharon is disappointed with her and deliberately makes her jealous by describing her new "friend" Chrissie. Sharon also drops a hint to Judy that she might like to meet Chrissie and tells her when Chrissie will be visiting the hospital... Paul suspects Tony is planning to run away: he leaves work to go to the college to stop him and asks Meg if she will cover for him. Michael Simpson visits again to try again with Caroline, but he doesn't take kindly to being searched by Jim. He tells Caroline he will testify for her, though he is also irrationally jealous of Jim, and comments snidely to Caroline that Jim willl be sure to ask for "payment" for his help. Meg is annoyed with Paul and tells him she isn't prepared to cover for him again. Sharon sulks when Chrissie says she won't help with the drugs pickup at the hospital, but the silent treatment is already beginning to work on Chrissie by the time she's collected for her visit. Sharon tells Caroline that Jim's nickname is "Fletch the Letch" because he screwed one of the prisoners. Paul buys flowers for Meg and Tony suspects he may be trying for more than just making an apology. Chrissie asks to go to the toilet at the end of her hospital visit and finds a packet taped inside the toilet paper dispenser (though note the rather worrying description on the toilet paper pack ). But someone has been lurking in the other cubicle and as Chrissie removes the packet someone reaches from behind and grabs her ...

  • It is Judy, who wants to see what Sharon's new girlfriend looks like. Chrissie tries to convince her that she only shares a cell with Sharon, and produces the note she was going to leave for Judy, asking her to leave the drugs in a rusty beercan by the perimeter fence at Wentworth. Margo demands payment in drugs for supporting Sharon: Sharon tells her the drugs will be coming in via Chrissie. Margo decides to collect early and intercepts Chrissie in the corridor on her way to the rec room. Chrissie gets a bashing from Margo and her heavies when they find she has nothing on her . Pat finds Chrissie on the floor on the rec room side of a locked security gate, so Sharon is able to work out who is responsible. When Margo and Co move in on Sharon, she produces a handful of pills as if from Margo's pocket, both to offer them as a payoff and to give warning to Margo that she could have them planted on her at any time. Judy arrives at Wentworth at night pretending to have a fare to pick up, which gives her an opportunity to plant the beercan by the fence. Chrissie gets out of sickbay next morning and at breakfast she tells Sharon about the drugs drop by the fence. Pat tells Bea the events of the night before, and that Sharon has asked her to pick up the drugs from the grounds. Bea tells her to go ahead, as she can see a way to use the situation to her own advantage. Erica tells Meg that Chrissie had been subjected to a rough body search, obviously for drugs, but is unimpressed by Meg's comment that the easiest way to solve the drugs problem would be to get Bea out of isolation. Pat collects some of the drugs and replaces the beercan. Bea tells Paul and Meg "in confidence" that someone is trying to to take over and is using drugs to do so. Pat tells Sharon that there were no drugs at the fence. Judy is turned away next day as Erica has ordered that Sharon is not allowed visitors, but when the women come out for an exercise period, Sharon notices Judy and pointedly links arms with Chrissie. Bea tells Erica where to find the beercan. When it is found, the main building is searched and Pat passes the rest of the drugs to Bea in isolation. Sharon boasts to Chrissie that she can make Judy do anything for her. Doreen offers to pay for the wedding and Kevin lets slip that he knows about her inheritance. Caroline's solicitor advises her to plead guilty to manslaughter as the way most likely to get a reduced sentence both for herself and for her mother, who would otherwise be charged with accessory to murder. Pat refuses to look for drugs again the following day, and tells Sharon that Bea will soon be back. Bea hands the remaining drugs over to Erica claiming they came in that morning, but Erica still won't change her mind and order Bea's immediate move from isolation. Kevin tells Doreen his mother is coming from the country specially to meet her. Jim argues with Erica for Bea's release from isolation. Sharon is just about to be beaten up by Margo's heavies for failing to get drugs in when Bea saunters casually back into the laundry...

  • Bea refers to Cavelli as "Lil" (when Lil Stokes is sitting at another table in the dining room) and Jentah Sobott is called "Pauline" by Pat and "Adams" by Vera.

Bea walks straight to the press and since Vera is present, Sharon and Chrissie just have to accept it. Vivienne tells Caroline they will never be able to lead a normal life even if they are acquitted. The gate guard stops Judy's car at the outer gate and calls for an officer to accompany her. Bea tells Pat that Chrissie and Sharon are running scared when Chrissie nervously drops her dinner in the dining room. Judy's visit is approved and she hands her money clip to Meg to check. Meg is astonished to find a small bag of marijuana not very well hidden inside it. Judy admits she knew it was there and claims she was only following orders and it was supposed to be for Chrissie. Doreen and Lizzie go to court to give evidence at Caroline's committal proceedings: Michael meets them and tells them it's fortunate for Caroline that he is there too. Paul warns Judy that she may not end up in the same block or even the same prison as Sharon if that was her intention. Lizzie's evidence conflicts with Rhonda's and she is forced to confess that she was drunk when she saw Vivienne for the first time. Jim objects to Erica's proposal to put Judy in Caroline and Vivienne's cell. Lizzie is offended when Doreen admits under questioning that she was indeed drunk. Chrissie tells Sharon she's worried that Judy is going to bash her. Judy asks to be taken outside for the exercise period along with the other women and tells Sharon to stay away from Chrissie, reinforcing her message by slapping her across the face. Michael gets angry that his hearsay evidence is rejected and he is nearly charged with contempt of court. The judge rules that Caroline must stand trial for manslaughter with Vivienne as accessory, but he sets the bail too high for them to pay it. Caroline thanks Lizzie as she is taken back to Wentworth. Judy is let off with a warning for her assault on Sharon, who cheerfully shrugs it off as a "domestic". Kevin's mother Louisa arrives and wants to know all about Doreen: it seems she will be very hard to please. Paul invites Meg round for dinner. Pat asks Bea what she is going to do about Sharon. Bea agrees it's time for action and hints to Pat that the remaining drugs which have been sewn into a toy elephant should be planted on Sharon, but as Pat is collecting the toy from her cell, Paul takes it from her before she can remove the drugs. Pat tells Chrissie that she has a plan to get Judy into solitary and all she has to do is to beg Paul for the toy elephant for her baby. Louisa suddenly warms to Doreen when she finds out about her mother's house, which is in a suitably "nice" suburb (which sound as if it called "Kew"). Jim lets Chrissie into Paul's office under the pretence of getting craft materials: she rips the toy elephant so she can take it away with her to "repair" it. Chrissie hands the drugs over to Pat, assuming she is going to frame Judy with them. Michael arrives at Wentworth and tells Jim he's paying bail for Caroline and her mother. Pat hides the drugs in Sharon's soap dish and turns round to find Judy glaring at her .

  • Vera appears twice in the credit sequence, at the end of the second screenful and also at the start of the third instead of Pat.

The frizzy haired background prisoner is called "June" by Bea.

Caroline asks her mother about a cryptic crossword but from the closeup she is doing the "straightforward" clues.

Vera calls Sharon out of the rec room to check the "tidiness" of her room. Pat returns to the rec room unharmed, and tells Bea that Judy just stood at the cell door and watched her plant the drugs. Jim finds the pills, which puzzles Pat even more, as she assumed Judy would have removed them as soon as she was left alone in Sharon's cell. Judy has been put into Caroline and Vivienne's cell and amuses herself by teasing Vivienne. Caroline returns from her meeting with Michael, and tells Vivienne she's refused to let Michael pay their bail as the condition was that they go back to live with him. Caroline is annoyed with Jim for telling her mother about the possibility of bail and raising her hopes: she tells him to keep his nose out of their business and he reminds her she's a prisoner. Vera wonders how the women will react when they find out that Bea lagged on Sharon, but Meg tells her that no staff member would pass on such information. But they don't need to: Judy has already worked out the connection from Pat to Bea, and voices her suspicions in the laundry in front of Chrissie, who accuses Bea directly of lagging. Sharon is sent to solitary until she can be brought before the Visiting Justice. Jim tells Paul he could put up the money for Caroline and Vivienne's bail, but only if someone else will front for him in court. Erica puts pressure on Chrissie to tell her how the last lot of drugs got inside: after a vague promise that her visits to Elizabeth would be restored, Chrissie tells her that contrary to appearances they had been around for some time hidden in a toy elephant and fingers Judy as the person who got them inside. Pat reports back to Bea that the women are down on her because she's put a stop to the drugs supply. Judy explains to Chrissie that she didn't do anything to help Sharon because she'd wanted her to stop dealing drugs for years and thought she deserved to be taught a lesson - with the added bonus that if Sharon was in the pound she'd be away from Chrissie. Caroline eventually accepts Jim's offer and gives him the addresses of two relatives who might stand in for him. Paul tells Jim later that both have refused to help, but offers to have Vivienne signed over to him instead. Doreen goes shopping with Louisa and they are unable to agree about anything much. Judy gives Pat a message to deliver to Sharon in solitary, but she hands it over to Bea instead. Doreen can't come up with any wedding guests from her side, and gets stuck after Lizzie and Erica. Vivienne is released. Meg arrives for the meal at Paul's but Tony isn't in and hasn't started cooking, so Meg and Paul go out for a meal instead. With Vivienne gone, Judy starts to make eyes at Caroline. When Tony arrives home, he has brought Sally with him, and tells Paul and Meg that Sally has just found out she is pregnant. Kevin tells his mother that Doreen has just come out of prison and stands well back...

  • In one scene in the laundry, Chrissie throws the dirty sheets over to "Mouse" - is this the first use of this name?

Kevin defends Doreen against the inevitable onslaught of Louisa's prejudiced attitudes. Tony assures Paul that he can't be the father of Sally's child, and Paul agrees to let Sally stay the night. Judy insinuates that Caroline must have decided to stay inside to be closer to Jim, but when she sees that Caroline doesn't think the remark very funny, she takes it back and admits that they may both have made a bit of a mess of their lives. Louisa seeks Doreen out at the halfway house and tells her that if she marries Kevin, she will never see either of them ever again. Lizzie goes after Louisa with a pan to batter her, but her anger turns to regret and she tells Louisa about her own children who were taken away from her: the eldest of them would now be a woman of 50. Jim asks Paul to check on Vivienne. Vera takes Sharon to the VJ and on the way manages to manipulate her into believing that it was Judy who framed her. Kevin thanks Lizzie for setting his mother straight, but both of them are worried where Doreen has gone. In fact, she has gone to visit Bea. The VJ doesn't understand the Chrissie - Sharon - Judy situation until Erica explains it for him. When he knows that Judy supplied drugs to Sharon, he discounts Sharon's accusation that Judy planted drugs on her and sends her back to solitary for 7 days. Bea and Doreen talk over their problems. Paul calls at Vivienne's house and a neighbour says the police have also been round but no-one has seen Vivienne for days. Chrissie tries to make peace with Judy, and tells her she prefers men anyway. Judy asks what it's like in solitary and when Chrissie tells her it's OK so long as there is someone in the next cell to talk to, this seems to give Judy an idea. Caroline tells Paul she has no idea where her mother might have gone, and tells him where he can find a key to get into the house. Bea asks permission to leave the rec room and go back to her cell, but instead she goes to Judy's cell to put her straight about dealing drugs. What Judy says convinces her that they basically agree on that subject at least, and Bea even seems to recognise that Judy is acting out of love for Sharon. Paul is spurred on to visit Vivienne by a policeman calling at Wentworth to warn him he is in danger of having to forfeit the bail money if she is not traced soon. Bea tells Chrissie that she's come to an agreement with Judy and that part of the deal is that Chrissie stays away from Sharon. Lizzie and Doreen go out for a drink to celebrate Louisa's change of heart and get thoroughly plastered. Vera tells Judy that Sharon will be in solitary for at least a week if not much longer, and Judy asks to go to the rec room, where she walks up to Bea and punches her in the face to get into solitary . Paul lets himself into Vivienne's house and finds her unconscious beside an empty bottle of pills. Lizzie and Doreen run out of money so Lizzie decides to steal some booze to tide them over: she fakes an attack while Doreen puts a couple of bottles under her arms and walks out of the shop. Unfortunately, a police patrol car pulls up opposite her, and the driver knows who she is.
