The women hear that Marie Winter has been recaptured, and hope she is sent to Blackmoor. Angel sees Myra set off to follow Judy and tells her that Judy is annoyed with her for wasting her time trying to help her "junkie" daughter Kay. Ann decides to take no action over the threatening letter, even though Meg insists it is different from the usual type they (apparently) get all the time. Myra tries to clear the air with Judy, but her hostile attitude confirms what Angel has just said, and they have another argument. Heather arrives for the dinner date and meets Doris: after Doris leaves, Dennis has to tell her that Doris isn't his "ex"-wife as he and Doris are still married. Joan plans to move away and open a bookshop with her father (even though he lives in a place with the same name as her tragic prisoner lover "Forbes"..?). Diedre is brought to Wentworth : Ann evades her request to share with Reb, and tells her that Reb was not as seriously ill as it seemed and though she is in the infirmary, she has made it clear that she doesn't want to see her mother. Joan gets a call from Cynthia at Blackmoor, and asks her to have a "talk" with Marie Winter. Ann calls in Inspector Rouse as she's found out the letter was delivered to the front gate by a boy, who obviously didn't know what it was: as she says so she opens what turns out to be another threatening letter . Angel sets off the fire alarm: when no-one will own up, Ann stops the women's buyup and threatens to stop the marathon if anything else happens. Frances realises from her reaction to a mention of Reb's name who Diedre is: Myra tells her to back off when she accuses her of turning Reb over to the police. Angel tells Dot that Marlene has been accusing her of lying and informing to the officers, which is confirmed when Marlene makes jokes about her special diet at lunch. Joan catches Angel in a corridor and when she challenges, Angel rips her sleeve and threatens to compromise Joan , saying that she's so sweet that anyone will believe whatever she says. Barbara Krantz, the PR person appointed by the Department to handle the marathon, tries to make Judy into her preconceived idea of her as a lovable granny and sends Joyce with the impossible task of making Judy look "sprauncy". Myra tries to find out what has turned Dot against Marlene. Marlene shows off the new mascot for the team, Willy Bear. Inspector Rouse says he will check out the note and Ann will be guarded round the clock. The other women are very disappointed that none of them are getting any credit for the marathon. Phil returns as a voluntary counsellor. Angel looks on as the women squabble over the disagreements she has started. Bobbie sees Phil in the new visiting area: he tells her that her father wants to see her, and that she has a four year old sister Cheryl. The women meet children from the deaf school and Judy notices one little girl Debbie sitting apart from all the others. The mystery guest Cliff Young arrives to support the marathon attempt. Ann is instructed to put Dennis on suspension as the Union has told its members not to work with him. Angel tries to charm Marlene to give her Willy Bear permanently, but she says she can't as her father gave it to her. Joan visits Reb in the infirmary to promise to cause her a lot of trouble in return for Reb's accusation. Ann finds another threatening letter on her mantelpiece despite the police guard on her flat.
