  • At muster, there are a few unfamiliar names: Grant (the first to move off and the one at centre of this shot ) and "Jones" and "Anderson". Meg reads out 8 names, but there are nine women lined up.

Judy pleads with Lori to come back to her family. Bea warns Nola not to push it or she'll give her another little "souvenir" and re-inforces the message by poking Nola in the chest. A drunken Hazel lectures Geoff on the sanctity of marriage, until he loses his patience and tells her she's talking to the wrong person. Joan makes a sarcastic remark to Meg about she and Colleen "setting up house together". Nola gives Faye a payoff and tells her to be careful how she tries to get it out of Wentworth when she's released. Bea has a sleepless night worrying that giving evidence against Nola will ensure she doesn't face the death penalty. Judy and Geoff visit David in hospital and the doctor tells them about post natal depression: he urges them to try to persuade Lori to accept treatment. Nola's TV arrives as she and Bea go off to court for Nola's trial. Patrick comes to Wentworth to ask Meg for advice and to try to convince Colleen to come back to her family: Meg tells him she can't take sides between them. Judy promises to help Geoff by giving up the halfway house to look after David if necessary. Faye is searched by Joan on release, and Nola's payoff is found in her collar : Faye is forced to give details to Joan about Nola's dealing. Faye goes to live with her mother, but she finds out that her sister Glynis won't let her visit her nephew and niece. Bea reports to the women that Nola got a life sentence for killing Paddy, and a stay of extradition. Joan comes to Nola's cell snapping a banknote in her face and saying she thinks it's time they they came to an "arrangement". With a fine mixture of cool and contempt, Nola acts surprised: "Don't tell me you have to pay for it these days". Joan tells Nola she means that she wants 50% of her take, but Nola pretends she has no idea what Joan is talking about. Chris brings his kids along while he works at Meg's. Nola corners Maxine in the library to ask her if she wants to take Faye's place, but shows Maxine how little choice she has in the matter by waving a nasty-looking flick-knife under her nose. Faye pretends to go out for the morning papers to look for job adverts but straight after make a detour to the bookies to place her first bet on the outside. Bea is outraged when it becomes clear that Maxine is working for Nola. Colleen has to lie to Erica when Chris refers to the work he is doing at Meg's and pretends the job was already arranged before Janice came to prison. Erica comments drily on the remarkable co-incidence. Joan finds Maxine with money and an order book, but Maxine is amazed not to be put on a charge. Nola is displeased with Maxine for stuffing up on her first day. Joan uses the order book to prove to Nola that she can get more proof of her involvement in trading, especially if she leans on Maxine. In return for keeping quiet, Joan again demands half of Nola's takings.

  • Maxine catches Nola and Joan in negotiation, but Nola sends her away. Nola tells Joan to arrange Maxine's visits from Roxanne to pass over contraband, and Joan says she'll only help if she gets 50%. Faye slips out of the house pretending she's got a job interview. Chris gives money to Janice on a visit supervised by Colleen, though Colleen does not see. Maxine is worried when she finds out that Nola has taken on Joan as a partner in the dealing, but Nola tells her she can always find someone else to help if Maxine won't do it. Nola announces she can take orders for anything: Bea forbids drugs. Nola repeats Bea's ban with sarcastic emphasis as if to say she's only going along with it very unwillingly. Geoff tries to get Lori to accept the baby but she runs away in tears. Joan comes to Nola's cell for her cut and is contemptuous of how pitifully little it is. Maxine gives Nola some of the money back as she says Roxanne will be able to steal most of the stuff and won't need to be paid so much. Nola is pleased to get an increased profit margin. Faye meets up with her old pal Maurie, who arranges a cleaning job for her. Chris comes to do some late work while Colleen is on her own in Meg's house. Joan pointedly refuses to let Maxine make a phone call in front of Bea, so Bea intervenes and forces Joan to back down. Joan distracts the junior officer in reception with a lesson on how to censor the papers while Maxine phones Roxanne with a list of items to be shop-lifted. Bea is sceptical of Maxine's claim that she can get goods in without having an officer turn a blind eye. Lori tells Judy she can't cope and is going to give her baby up for adoption - just Judy herself did. Judy tells her there's no comparison in their circumstances and she doesn't want Lori to repeat her mistakes. Faye refuses the offer of another mate Snowy to make money handling stolen radios for him. Erica orders a check on the armoury as the Depertment seem about to make a routine check on security. In an uncomfortably patronising sequence, Judy takes Lori to see a deaf school to prove that deaf children don't have to be locked up in an attic. Faye gets an inside racing tip from another cleaner. Roxanne hands over the goods to Maxine during a visit supervised by Joan. Lori comes home from the hospital bringing Baby David with her. Maxine pretends that Officer Barry supervised the visit, as her fabled stupidity is sufficient in itself to explain how easy it was to smuggle the goods in. Bea is not impressed and rages at the women that it hasn't taken them very long to forget what Nola did to Paddy. Lizzie figures Bea just needs cheering up. Faye makes a profit thanks to the tipoff and stays out late drinking. Colleen gets all dolled up at work to go and visit Chris to "arrange a housekeeper for him". She arrives as Chris is having difficulties coping with the kids : after they suggest it, Chris invites Colleen to stay to lunch with them.

  • Colleen phones Meg to say she won't need dinner. Nola doles out her black market goods to the women. Faye's mother insists that Glynis must bring her kids to visit Faye, as her husband won't allow Faye to go to their house. Lizzie hides her whisky miniatures in her cell and tells Bea that she thinks Joan saw her with them but didn't say anything. Maxine rips her sheets when she gets into bed and finds that Lizzie has short-sheeted it. Bea and Maxine are sceptical of Lizzie's claim that her eyesight is going fuzzy and agree that it's just another of her jokes. Mr Douglas tells Erica a social researcher is to be inducted as a prisoner to evaluate both prisoners and staff. Lizzie puts a "dead mouse" in the skip and asks the other women to unload it for her. Faye buys presents for Billy and Samantha. Erica refuses to tell Colleen how the Departmental investigation will be carried out and Colleen makes it clear she isn't happy with that. Glynis insists that her kids call Faye "Auntie". Janice falls victim to another of Lizzie's practical jokes and is covered with the contents of a box of soap powder balanced on top of her cell door. The women tell Bea they're sick of Lizzie's practical jokes and ask Bea to have her a word with her. When Bea goes to their cell, she catches Lizzie sewing up her the legs and arms of her pyjamas, and tells her to lay off. Jill Clarke is inducted by Joan and gets a dose of good old Wentworth hospitality. Joan raises an eyebrow when Erica asks to have Jill brought to her office after induction. Nola suggests the women get their own back on Lizzie: Bea says they will have to be careful of giving her a sudden shock, but says if anyone can think of a harmless enough joke it's OK. Erica makes it clear to Jill that she does not approve of her presence in Wentworth, and is surprised to see she is included in the investigation. Judy suggests Sally from the halfway house as a housekeeper for Chris: Colleen has second thoughts when she sees she is young and pretty. Jill is introduced to the women and makes Bea suspicious with her questions. Colleen is resentful of Meg's implications as to her real motives for wanting to help Chris and his family. Lizzie is feeling her age, and finding an old friend's name in the obituary column doesn't improve matters. Nola tells Joan they need another visit from Roxanne, but Joan refuses to become so directly involved and says Maxine must ring her. Judy asks for volunteers to work on the new house. Judy mentions to Janice that she has found her a new housekeeper, and Janice reacts with fury that she was not consulted. Meg is also surprised that Janice didn't know and tells Colleen she was put in a very awkward situation. Buyup is reinstated: Jill starts asking questions when she hears Maxine offering to sell the women contraband at lower prices than the buyup. Janice confronts Colleen for interfering in her family life. Bea mocks Janice for suspecting there could be something going on between Chris and Colleen. Maxine points out to Nola that the return of buyup might be dangerous for them as it might expose the fact that they are dealing with Joan.

  • Most of the names of the women selected for the working bee do seem to match those who go: Smith, Stokes, Daniels, Murray, Clark, Birdsworth. So presumably the tall prisoner with blond hair in the group is "Andrews"?

This is the first time Colleen is credited by her first name.

Nola refers to her death sentence "in Freemantle".

Janice tells Jill about her suspicions that Chris is having an affair. Nola suggests tricking Lizzie into thinking she's gone deaf: and bets that she won't realise what's going on. Later in the laundry, the women start silently mouthing to each other instead of talking. Bea is confident that Lizzie will see through the joke, but in reality she's starting to get worried about her health. Judy meets Betty Collins, her next-door neighbour at the new halfway house. Lizzie reminisces about how hard life was in the old prison. Janice apologises to Colleen, and Colleen excuses herself on the grounds that she was under the impression that Chris was going to tell her about the housekeeper. Erica announces the women who will be going on the working bee to the halfway house next day. Jill notices her stern warning about the consequences of making trouble and starts to pump Lizzie for more details about what had happened previously to make Erica deliver the warning. Joan tells Maxine to sell Jill insurance. Helen brings Lindy to the halfway house after she has been beaten up by her pimp. Maxine catches Jill writing notes in her cell as she comes to persuade to take out insurance, which gives Jill the opportunity to find out the details of that little scam too. Lizzie walks into a totally silent rec room: Bea is convinced she has seen through the joke. Maxine finds Jill's notes, which are in shorthand, but she recognizes some names. Jill has to explain herself to Bea: she claims to be doing a psychological study for a university thesis, so Bea contributes some details about Joan. Glynis allows Billy to go to a cricket match with Faye, but she takes him to the races instead. Nola sees Lizzie all dressed up to go the the halfway house and teases her that she's missed the bus as the bell went hours ago: didn't she hear it? Lizzie rushes off to reception at top speed, but Meg tells her she's far too early, just as the bell sounds. The working bee party goes to the halfway house. Maxine talks to Trevor, but his mother stops him and calls him inside. Glynis forbids Faye to see Billy again. Colleen invites Chris for dinner with her and Meg. Fay goes to the (old) halfway house rather than stay with her mother. While Chris is on his way, Meg gets a phone call and has to go to work to cover for Officer Barfield and Colleen tries to phone Chris to tell him not to come round. Before Chris arrives at Meg's, Patrick comes round to talk to Colleen, which causes a row and Chris leaves. Colleen tells Patrick to go home. Jill is surprised by Nola's apparent apathy about improvements to conditions, but Nola explains that she doesn't want things "changing" - after all, she's committed murder to get things exactly the way she wanted them. Colleen goes to see Chris afterwards to apologise: he wants to know why she couldn't just phone and suggests she must have another reason. He also wonders if the reason Colleen is so persistent in denying there is anything going on between them is that she wants it to happen. He moves forward to kiss her, challenging her to stop him if she doesn't want it to happen. She doesn't .

A woman at the halfway house referred to as "Janet" gets a line

  • Written by Dave Worthington

  • Lizzie refers to Sid and Doreen, the latter probably as an early preparation for her forthcoming re-appearance.

Colleen arrives back at Meg's next morning. Meg already knows she's been at Chris' place because he's phoned to say she left her keys there. Meg makes it clear to Colleen that she disapproves. Lizzie's remarks make Bea think she's in on the joke, but she's genuinely worried. Nola is dismissive of Jill. Colleen is touchy and when Janice asks what is happening about the housekeeper, she snaps back that she's no idea, as she doesn't spend the whole time round at her house. Colleen gives permission for Chris to visit Janice: he tells Colleen over the phone he will return her keys when he visits. Sister Kelly sees Lizzie and makes her even more worried. Lizzie makes the mistake of describing her symptoms to the sister as if she was talking about someone else, so Sister Kelly feels free to speculate, and mentions a brain tumour as among the possible diagnoses. Lizzie tells Meg that all her old photos were hidden in books in the library, so they were all destroyed in the fire and all she has left is a photo of Sid . Bea tries to claim she's won her bet after what Meg tells her about Lizzie just seems to confirm that Lizzie is enjoying pretending to be sick to wind them all up further. Meanwhile, Lizzie is writing her "will" giving back to the women the things he has stolen from them, explaining that she only took them to give them something to remember her by. She also writes down a confession to setting fire to Sid's house, then changes her mind and crosses it out. Joan notices the clumsy way Chris gives Colleen back her keys and tries to make Janice suspicious of Colleen, by implying that Colleen doesn't usually take such a "personal" interest in prisoners' families. Patrick phones the prison and Meg forces Colleen to take the call: he tells Colleen he's applied for a new job. Meg tells the women that their stupid joke has Lizzie convinced that she has a brain tumour. After tests, it turns out she is actually only suffering from eye strain, but she gets Meg to string the women along by telling them Lizzie will never see in the same way again - in her new reading glasses. Billy leaves home and comes to find Faye: Judy lets him stay at the halfway house when Faye spins her a tale. Judy leaves the old halfway house for the new one and and meets the women from Wentworth who are there to do it up. Maxine chats to Trevor and invites him over to give them a hand. Billy decides to return home as he doesn't want to upset his mother. Lindy is upset when she finds Maxine and Trevor kissing and Trevor runs away in confusion. Billy's parents track him down and come to the halfway house to collect him. Lizzie tries out her new glasses but complains she can't hear a thing while she's wearing them. Bea comments they make her look like Edna Everage. As Malcolm leaves, he threatens to have Faye charged with kidnapping: Faye tells Judy that it's an idle threat as she can't be charged - Billy is her son, not her nephew.
