Doreen is worried that she still hasn't heard anything about the porridge incident, but Judy points out that if she wants to worry about someone she should spare a thought for Myra. Phyllis tells Margo that Reb is selling her drugs and suggest they frame her when Joan gets back. Colleen gets a call from the estate agent selling her house. Jack tells Bobbie he's missing home and invites her to come back to the country with him. The six person jury hears the prosecution's summing up, which pours scorn on all Myra's claims and calls her "a bitter and jealous woman". Reb hides something in Pixie's locker. Meg tries to lift Myra's spirits and promises to visit her children. The Major tells Joan that the tests show he has leukaemia. Margo is not pleased with the tiny payoff Reb gives her: Pixie blunders in and after they are locked in for the night Margo burns her hand with a cigarette to warn her off. Judy and Doreen see the burn next morning and do not need to be told who did it. Ann tells Meg she waited outside her house for hours after she forgot she had invited her to dinner. Doreen is called to see the Governor after muster but despite her fears she is released and cheers the women up with a final message over the intercom. Myra is sentenced to eight years after finding no evidence of mitigating circumstances. Eddie phones Bobbie but she admits she hasn't been able to get a message to Sonia. Colleen goes out for dinner with Ross Heineman from the real estate office. Myra returns to the laundry and Judy fills her in on what Margo has been up to with Cass and Pixie. Joan goes sight seeing and thinks she sees a familiar face in the distance . Cass holds Margo while Myra stubs out a cigarette in her hand. Rick takes Margo to the sister and says there are far too many accidents happening recently. Mario tells Renner he's seen Eddie talking to Bobbie, and Renner sends Big Boz to find out what Bobbie knows. Bobbie has to tell Jack she can't leave Sydney with him as she needs to see someone first, but he persuades her to meet him the next morning at 10 to catch the bus. Bobbie denies knowing anything about Eddie Stevens but Renner's thug is not convinced tries to beat the information out of her. Margo sets Myra's bed alight and leaves it smouldering. The thug finds Eddie's contact number in Bobbie's handbag. Joan is propositioned in the street but when she turns round her potential customer takes fright and mutters "Bloody hell! Sorry, mate". Colleen realises she doesn't want to live alone when the estate agent tells her he thinks he's find a perfect place for her. Myra finds her bed smoking just before lockup so is unable to do anything about it. Renner makes Sonia phone Eddie to arrange a meeting and even dials the number for her. While on her evening shift, Bobbie is approached by a stranger who gives her a tap on the shoulder. When she turns round she comes face to face with a smirking Joan .

  • Joan takes Bobbie back to her room and gets Bobbie to try to contact Sonia to bring her there. Eddie phones Rick to get him to tell Inspector Maynard about the meeting. Renner invites Sonia to come along with him and watch Eddie be killed: she casually replies "Why not? There's nothing on TV". Pixie is relieved to move cells to share with Cass. Cass reads a letter from her family and finds out that her brother had been ill. Bobbie fails to contact Sonia, and Joan is amazed to find Eddie is still alive. Sonia goes with Renner to an underground storage shed, gets Eddie to reveal his hiding place and watches impassively as Renner shoots him. Bobbie eventually contacts Sonia and asks her to come round early next morning. Sonia tries to creep out while Renner is asleep but has to knock him out with a gun to make her escape. Rick asks Meg about Cass's message and she realises she forgot to pass it on. Myra gets a shock from one of the washers when she rests her hand on it and Meg says she will call the electrician. Sonia is disgusted to be tricked by Joan but when the police siren is heard, she fools Joan into looking out of the window and smacks her over the head with her handbag. Jack arrives to meet Bobbie to see her being put into a police car. Inspector Maynard tells Rick that Bobbie has been recaptured, Sonia has escaped and Eddie is in hospital. Meg forgets to report the faulty washing machine and Rick tells her she's also forgotten to lock a prisoner in solitary. Pixie is electrocuted trying to turn the washer off : when Ann comes to the laundry, Myra tells her the women in the block are on strike. Two Sydney detectives interview Eddie in hospital and he tells them he suspects Sonia may be heading for her parents' house in Sydney where they spent their honeymoon. Sonia swaps cars in a multistory car park. One of the detectives passes on the information about Sonia directly to Renner. The women decide to form a union to fight for better conditions. Ann questions Meg about forgetting to report the electrical fault and tells her she will have to put in a report to the deaprtment. Phyllis follows Reb and sees where she has hidden the cocaine. Colleen suggests Meg should see a doctor about her memory lapses. Myra catches Phyllis with the cocaine in the toilet block and flushes it away. Sonia parks her car at the edge of a cliff and looks down onto the rocks way below . Myra tells Reb her cocaine has been flushed and Reb teases Margo that it was hidden in her cell taped under the hand basin. Colleen refuses Ann's offer to take over from Meg as Deputy Governor. Reb warns Phyllis not to cross her again. The police find Sonia's abandoned car with a bullet hole in the windscreen, but no sign of Sonia. Margo offers Myra a truce for bringing Barnhurst out on strike too - and manages to negotiate a rider that she should be allowed to run a book. Pixie tells Judy that the shock has made her remember killing Ralph.

  • Myra takes the place of Sonia in the opening mugshot sequence.

No wonder Det Bermingham finds it so easy to get access to Rick's car: he seems to have left it parked outside the prison unlocked and with the window wound right down. .

Judy gently tries to hint that she knows Meg is behaving oddly, but her offer of help is rebuffed. Reb tries to find out when Margo is getting more drugs in. Ann tells the officers that a psychiatrist is coming to Wentworth to do a research project in behaviour modification. The women hear a TV news bulletin with two items about Wentworth back to back: Bobbie's recapture by Joan and Sonia's car being found abandoned. Judy confides in Myra over her worries about Pixie thinking she'd killed Ralph: Phyllis hovers nearby to earwig as much as she can. Meg finds out her memory loss is due to the sleeping pills she has been taking. Phyllis is threatened by Margo, so she offers to tell her what she's overheard about Pixie. Ann meets the new psychiatrist, Dr Jonathan Edmunds, who she knew twenty years ago. he won't tell her anything about the methods he will be using and asks her for dinner to seek her advice on suitable subjects. Myra tells Colleen they are not working even though the faulty drier has been fixed. Bobbie returns to Wentworth with Joan. Pixie admits to Judy and Myra that Ralph's wallet wouldn't have been on his body as she threw it away, so he may not have been identifiable. When Cass hears from Joan that Bobbie has been returned and put in to share with Margo, she goes to find her and tells her what happened to Sonia. Joan brushes aside Rick's congratulations on her bravery, and says she suspects he must have know Eddie was alive and probably where Sonia and Bobbie were in hiding too. Meg explains to the women about the adverse reaction for the medication she'd been taking. Inspector Maynard comes to Wentworth to tell Rick he wants him to be bait for Detectives Mears and Birmingham: he is eager to cooperate even before he hears that the explosives used to blow up his car were traced back to them. Margo gets more stuff in after a visit from her sister and gives Phyllis some laxative chocolate to give to Cass. She also wants her to take one of Reb's socks to make a cosh to use on Myra, but Reb is outside the cell listening. Cass passes on the chocolate to Bobbie as she's missed buyup. Margo upsets Pixie by telling the whole rec room about Ralph, then tries to blame it on Reb. Myra goes after Reb to try to persuade her not to break the strike. Margo comes up behind Myra and knocks her out with the cosh. Dr Edmunds gets very personal during his dinner date with Ann, even confessing that he should have married her. The cosh is discovered in Margo's cell, not in Reb's. Bobbie passes the chocolate on to Judy as a present and it takes effect after she has been locked in for the night. Joan tells the women Margo has been transferred to Blackmoor. Rick makes a phone call to Inspector Maynard, knowing the line is tapped (and talking extra clearly for good measure). Reb claims Margo's assets - including Phyllis - and takes over the strike. Pixie meets Dr Edmunds and, assuming he is a police officer, confesses to Ralph's murder. Bobbie sees Phyllis collecting buyup goods from the cells in the skip. Rick is kidnapped by Mears and Birmingham.

  • Margo's credit is an error - she was transferred in the previous episode (thanks Mark C)

Poor continuity during the fight at the start: first Cass grabs Frances by the hair , then Frances is shown in a solo closeup , then Cass punches her , then is once again holding her hair .

Cass hears Alice and Fran beating up Bobbie and rushes to the cell to dispose of both of them and their look-out Phyllis. Det Mears has apparently transferred effortlessly to the front passenger seat, still holding Rick at gunpoint (how, unless he forced Rick to stop the car?) and gives him directions for their journey. Cass won't lag on Alice and Phyllis who got away, but Ann takes away Cass's buyup for two weeks for the attack on Frances rather than send her to solitary. Jonathan flatters her on her handling of the situation and puts himself forward as a solution, asking if he can help Cass. Ruth and Pixie complain their buyup has been stolen. Phyllis is terrified when Cass advances on her assuming she was guilty of the thefts. The police stake out Rick's place, but he's been taken to the woods. Birmingham prepares to shoot Rick, but is shot by Mears, who then tries to kill Rick to make it look like they shot each other. Rick overpowers him and shoots him in the head, but not before forcing him to say who did the bank job in which his girlfriend died and whom Mears and Birmingham allowed to escape justice (it was apparently a certain Mr Doherty, and Det Birmingham had already disposed of him). Dr Edmunds talks to Meg in the staff room, and asks her out to dinner ostensibly to find out more about the women, but warns her not to let "the Governor" know about the date. Pixie tells Cass she won't be going to Blackmoor after all and is puzzled that the police didn't charge her for Ralph's murder. Inspector Maynard tells Rick he'd have got a promotion if he'd still been in the police force, but Rick says he has alreday got what he wanted. When he tells Colleen that he has killed the man who planted the bomb that wiped out her family, they agree that revenge is no compensation for what they have lost. Ann invites Jonathan to dinner at her house, but he makes an excuse to decline, not mentioning that he's already invited Meg out. When an estate agent shows a couple around her house, Colleen objects to their disparaging remarks about her husband's DIY efforts and the state of the children's bedrooms and orders them to leave her property. Judy and Bobbie retrun to the rec room (leaving Myra and Frances still in sickbay). Jonathan demonstrates some relaxation techniques on Meg when he is invited back to her place for coffee after their dinner date, then pops round to visit Ann, dragging her out of bed in her old red dressing gown. She sends him away, saying she has something important to tell him first. Reb silences Judy by quickly standing up to Ann over the go slow, saying they will not retrun to work until all the machines are replaced. Phyllis and Cass are called to the Governor's office, but it is only to be introduced to Dr Edmunds. Judy remembers Scott mentioning a Dr Edmunds, but can't remember why. Joan tells Reb her terms for supporting her bid to become top dog. Phyllis talks to Dr Edmunds about her family, including her drunken parents and her brothers Mick (who lives in Darwin and sometimes visits, apparently) and Timmy, and her daughter who has been adopted. Charlie Grayson pays a surprise visit to Cass to show her a photo of her old friend Lucy the pig , and tells her he's put her in for the show. Cass tries to persuade Bobbie she ought to ask to see Dr Edmunds too. Reb runs a two up game for the women, but the "prizes" turn out to be their own stolen buyup. After a chat to Cass, Dr Edmunds reveals his real motivation to his dictaphone (and us), and strokes his moustache in a calculating way. Pixie has a surprise visitor - Ralph - which makes her fall in faint in Joan's arms. After the game, Reb finds her money has been lifted and warns the women not to cross her again. Her plan to become top dog is somewhat undermined when Myra walks into the laundry.

  • Reb seems frightened by Myra's sudden appearance, but she recovers quickly and to Judy's suprise Myra doesn't do anything to respond to Reb's challenge to take her on by herself. Pixie wakes up in mid-sentence and Ralph has some difficulty getting her to shut up long enough to remind her he is still alive. Myra tells Judy that she has a headache and can't defend her place as top dog. The doctor told her that she could die if she got another hit in the head. Judy promises to not let Reb take over totally until Myra has recovered. Bobbie is disappointed that Myra won't be challenging Reb, and points out she is Reb's principal suspect for lifting her money. Sure enough, Reb heavies her at the first opportunity, but Joan turns up to collect her share of the take just in time to stop it going too far. Pixie worries she's coming down with some psychological illness after turning down Ralph's (second) proposal of marriage. Phyllis and Cass both seem to have undergone a sudden personality change which makes Judy decide to contact Scott Collins to find out about Dr Edmunds. After dinner at Meg's house, Jonathan hypnotises Meg and while she's in a trance state (and surprisingly talkative considering) he plants the suggestion in her mind that Joan is a good officer and that Meg herself is a laughing stock for being such a wimp. In order to win back respect, she must punish the prisoners as often as she can. Next day at work, Meg startles Colleen by defending Joan in the staff room and saying she intends to adopt a stricter approach. Sure enough, when Meg catches Reb sauntering down a corridor, she slaps her for answering back. The women refuse to believe Reb when she says that Meg hit her. Meg walks into the laundry and immediately puts Judy on a charge for insubordination. Rick meets the daughter of his local newsagent: they find they share a taste for terrible old "progressive" rock groups and is invited to dinner with them . Ann doesn't believe Reb either when she complains about Meg's behaviour, especially since Meg is temporarily back to her old sweet self. However, before dinner Meg has punished five prisoners, and put three of them are on report. Ann invites Jonathan to dinner to explain to him why she has been a little distant with him. Meg is snappy with Colleen in the staff room when she tries to find out what is wrong with her. Jonathan pretends he is seeing a (male) colleague that evening when Meg wants to go for a drink with him. Joan collects her cut from Reb, taking double after she missed the day before. Ann tells Reb that Erica Davidson is coming to negotiate with the women but if the strike is not called off, there will be no negotiations at all. Reb tells Ann that she have to talk to the women before she can make a decision. Jonathan hypnotises Cass and plants a suggestion that she should kill Bobbie.
